Welcome to the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentivepayment calculator

The tariffs for domestic air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and biomass boilers and stoves are being increased from Spring 2017. Domestic RHI applications submitted on or after 14 December 2016 will be eligible to receive these increased tariffs, but they will only apply to payments made from Spring 2017. This calculator shows estimated payments based on the current tariffs. The calculator will then display estimated payments based on the new tariffs when they are introduced in Spring 2017.

Heat demand limits are also being introduced in Spring 2017 which will limit the amount of RHI payments made to larger properties. Full applications submitted before this date will not be subject to these limits.

For more details see the Government’s response to the RHI consultation, which can be viewed here.

What is the Domestic RHI?

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) is a UK Government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat. Switching to heating systems that use naturally replenished energy can help the UK reduce its carbon emissions. If you join and comply with the scheme rules, you’ll receive quarterly payments for seven years for the amount of clean, green renewable heat the system produces.
